|Serves as Creative Director of The Seabright Group. She has a 20-year background in English Language Training (ESL/EFL), intercultural communications, curriculum development, teacher training, computer-assisted language learning and program administration.
She has taught at the University of California at Davis, Extension, Intensive English Program, Georgetown University, Intel Corporation, and U.C. Davis Medical Center. Ms. Steinbach has lived in Germany and Austria and was hired by the German Cultural Ministry to teach at Eleonoren Gymnasium in Worms. She also participated in Southeast Asian refugee settlement and literacy training programs in the San Joaquin Valley, California.
Susan has administered USAID grants on teacher training and materials development in Latvia under the auspices of Freedom House, an NGO based in Washington, D.C. She has also worked on USAID projects in Cairo, Egypt under the auspices of U.C. Santa Cruz. She has taught in Nanjing, China and Yangon, Myanmar.
Ms. Steinbach has coordinated programs for ARAMCO (Arabian American Oil Corporation), Fulbright and Hubert Humphries scholars (pre-academic orientations), ACTR orientations (former Soviet Republics), Republic of China Ministry of Education (Taiwanese teacher training), and Japanese Young Police Officer Training Programs.
Susan is a frequent presenter at TESOL, CATESOL, CAPS and LDA-CA conferences. She is a past chair of the Video Interest Section of TESOL.
Her interest in developing video training materials stems from a desire to increase the range of multimedia materials available to non-native speakers of English. "We are living in an information age which requires materials developers to meet the needs of a variety of learning styles and approaches." Students and professionals from around the world have benefited from her videos and insights.
